An Introduction to Uhuru
From the very beginning of the YS journey, we had our heart set on partnering with charities who raise money for a cause that the whole team supports. When the opportunity arose to produce our debut passion project, John shared his concern over the vulnerability of wildlife across Africa.
Growing up, John spent many summers in Africa and in particular Kenya. Over the years he became besotted by the elephants, resulting in various fundraising projects to support orphanages and other wildlife conservation projects. After hearing all about John’s African adventures, the YS gang decided this would be the perfect cause to raise money for.
Have you heard the news? The first Young Spirits passion project has officially landed at a site near you (uhuruspirits.com to be precise). In collaboration with leading conservation charity, Tusk, we have launched our very own single cask spirits brand called, Uhuru (which means ‘freedom’ in Swahili).
Uhuru is all about supporting conservation projects across Africa and contributing to positive change for the environment. Young Spirits is incredibly excited about what the future holds for Uhuru and all the positive change we can make with our donations.
When brainstorming charities that would share the same passion, we stumbled across, Tusk Trust through some mutual connections. We got in touch and shared our plans for Uhuru, they loved the concept and from that moment on, the perfect pairing was formed.
