FROM CASK TO CRAFT

YOUNG SPIRITS PARTNERS WITH MOVE ON WOOD RECYCLING

Move On Wood Recycling is part of charity Move On Scotland, who support vulnerable people to achieve personal goals and make positive change in their lives.

The social enterprise based Granton, Edinburgh builds bespoke furniture, sells reclaimed timber and runs a waste wood collection service, all with an environmental focus.

Established in 2019, Move On Recycling have worked on countless domestic products and larger projects across businesses, retail, hospitality, schools, charities, and local community projects. To date they have saved 933 tonnes of wood, 2449 days of volunteering and trained 79 young people.

Move On also provide employability training for young people as part of their 'Building Brighter Futures' programme for 16-21 year olds, as well as volunteering opportunities for local people in their wood workshop.

Young Spirits have set up an initiative to donate superfluous empty casks to Move On Recycling to be utilised by the charity and transformed into furniture or planters.

Young Spirits have shown a real commitment to help support Move On Wood Recycling, both in buying into our message of sustainability and growing the circular economy, but also in assisting us to ensure we can improve the life prospect of the local young people we work with.”

Craig Meldrum – Operational Manager, Move On Wood Recycling
